What the Hack is Open Biometrics and what for? Marc Boehlen left this question unanswered during his talk. Either cause he is not allowed to deal with or he does not want to deal with. However ever. He showed some fingerprinting principles, presented parts of his scientific work, and listed some effords towards global biometric registration.
When asked by the audience about the risks of biometrics in general, especially when done on a global scale Marc didn't suceed in pointing out his very personal point of view. The same when asked about the benefits of open biometrics in contrast to the proprietary and closed approaches.
