From What The Wiki?!

Hello, I deleted the link to your personal members area at CAcert beacause it is unreachable for everyone other.
Also the WoT application form will be filled in automaticly for every account.

Greetings --Curry 14:30, 19 Jun 2005 (CEST)

Hi number 3, i have tried to download your WoT form twice, but couldn“t open it. However, i have tried it a third time and it worked. So we can replace the link, but there will be assurers from many different countries at WTH, so i would prefer to make one english WoT form, with filled in place of the meeting and the year, which we place in this wiki, so theres one form for all assurers.

Who is mysterious number3? ;-) --sn

I have removed your request for BitTorrents of the raw tapes since these have been available for quite some time in the VideoMirror page. --2 August 2005 16:33 (CEST)

hi nr3, i couldn't get hold of the folks that did the conference organisation, because i think they are on vacation. i try to collect the contactinfo of the speakers that were actually holding their speaches and i'll send out a mail to them, to submit their slides to the WhatTheSlides page. I'll shift the original pdf's then to the track of the according lecture. - Bine 11 August 2005 01:17 (CEST)

hi number3, mail has been sent out this morning. don't have mailaddress from all, but most. hope the rest takes a peek at the wiki and submits the slides too.

may I ask who you are? anonymity in honour, but I'd like to know with whom I'm working on this ;o)

there are quite a lot of things to do and I'd be happy if you could help me. Besides checking for the slides, there is the following to do:

  • I have a powerpoint presentation from bumping revisited, but it's too big (even if i split it in two parts). it's 22MB and wiki doesn't take it. wiki doesn't like zip-files either. do you have experience with resizing PPP or pics in pdfs? and a bit of time? hanno, who has set up the wiki is until september on vacation, and I have no access to put an ftp along with the wiki, where we could host too large files.
  • I've worked through almost half the articles and added appropriate tags that are mentioned in the help-box when you click on write an article-write a report. people didn't use them properly and these tags are important to find articles on a wiki. in case you come across an article that only contains "{ { publish } }", please add in curly brakets "top" (if it is an informative story and not just blahblah), and the appropriate other tags from the list.
  • I've also added with about half the articles "related pages" at the bottom, which include a link to the abstract, the speaker, the track and other related articles. If you come across an article that has no related pages yet, please add them. For related articles you need to search the wiki. I've also tried to add everything I could find to the track-page that goes along with every lecture. I continue working on that.
  • If you come across spelling mistakes, please correct them and tick the box "minor edit" before saving.
  • Do you have a certain field in which you are fluent? I am looking for people that are able to write a good article on clustered topics, after viewing the lectures again on video and filtering the breaking news and most important pieces of information. Interviews with the speakers should also be possible, if needed. Clustered topics would be an overview over all Wifi lectures, workshops and projects at WTH, an overview over political calls (SWpatents, copyright, data retention legislation, etc.), technical solutions of importance for the future of developing countries, mobile phone and pocket PC security (from XDA hacking, over cryptophones to bluetooth security), etc. if you are good in writing and have expertise in a specific field, please let me know if you write such an overview article.
  • There are also other things to do, but I'd like to focus on the clean-up of this messy page at the moment as well as on information collection.

ah, you've already added the wth-slides-[name of talk].pdf suggestion to WhatTheSlides. Thanks! :)

Really, don't take it the wrong way, but i come from a bloodline of english teachers, i gotta focus on the "family heritage" ;) As for the "hunting" for errors: In this particular case, i dislike the hunt, but i do like to correct them.
