From What The Wiki?!
Hello, I'm Soapy, and I'll be helping out with the security team and also giving three lockpicking sessions, in amongst all the other stuff!
I'm based in Preston, UK, and will be coming over by ferry.
So, lockpicking! I'm sure you have heard of it, there will be a few presentations about it over the three days, but none by me! I will, however, be doing a few workshops in the Lockpicking_Village. To try to get some representation for the UK, I'm going to be taking part in the DutchOpen_2005 lock-picking championship! This will be from noon onwards on the Saturday.
What am I offering to do a workshop in then? Well, I certainly know enough to teach a beginner to the sport a few tricks, opening wafer and pin tumbler locks. I also, being from the UK, know a few tricks with lever locks, which most of the Euro & US visitors won't ever have seen, and I will be bringing materials to let you (for a small fee) make your own lever pick tools, and get to work on some of the easier lever locks. However, I'm having trouble getting piano wire, so if you can get some, bring it! You want stuff between 1.3 and 2.0mm diameter.
Also, for the *real* pros, I've got a few locks that you guys won't have a chance against! (Famous last words!)
I will also have a (small) selection of lever locks for purchase for those of you who don't want a channel-wide trek for an example to take home with you.
Add your name if you want anything in the way of hardware, and I will see if I can help!
My DECT was NIGE or 6443. How cool was that...
Well, it was fscking fantastic! The Lockpicking village was pretty crowded, loads of people learned the basics, the championship was a blast & I can't believe how well I did!
Any of you guys who want me and didn't get my details, ask one of the other guys, or get me via MSN on 'n tolley at hot mail . com' or email 'WTH at discreet security solutions . com'
