raw?

uhm, I was just wondering why these mpeg4 files are called the RAW video files... I know they are uneditted.. but they are also different from the RAW tapes since they are encoded.. and therefor have lost quality?

RAW means Uneditted yes. There is a difference between raw data and raw tapes. You can actually see the raw tape with some quality loss and not the raw data. Raw data means about 11GB/hour. Almost no-one wants to view that.....
