Talk:Pegs are done

From What The Wiki?!

Nice job! But will 2000 pegs be enough with 3000 visitors and more than one PC per visitor...?

There is regular DHCP also. Pegs are mainly for certain devices:

  • without (properly functioning) DHCP support
  • whose IP must never change
  • which must remain reachable in a DHCP-related crisis (problems with a rogue server or so)

And it's tradition of course.

(or am I underestimating how many people want pegs even if they have DHCP support?)

nah :-) the slackers will use normal DHCP...

Spare pegs

Do you have any pegs remaining? I could use a handful for managing R/C frequencies at WTH.

About 10, but they are in my trashcan.

recycled pegs

I'll bring the two pegs they gave me at HIP97, saves you two pegs.
