Assuring Party/Event


I think if you/we ask the WTH orga maybe we could get a timeslot in a tent with a sound system. Maybe not the real big one (too big) but there are more tents with a sound system. Idea ? Aldert Hazenberg 22:35, 21 Jun 2005 (CEST)

Are one or two ID cards necesary to get assured?

Point 4 in the Prerequisites section says that only one ID card is necessary to get assured, but according to the CACert wiki Assurance Information for CAP at least two governmental issued IDs have to be checked. Or did i missunderstand something?

  • as far as I know having 2 IDs could get you extra points.. but since a lot of people have only one, I don't think they can require 2 cards.. -- Sebastian
  • one (governmental with photo) is a MUST. Another (also official) preferably with photo as well, will increase the trust of the assurer in you. Thus hopefully making him/her giving you more points.

Of course not. You got my statement wrong (feel free to improve it). What I was trying to say is: That all the other ppl wanting to get assured (maybe for the first time) should try to get some other assurances first. Otherwise they might think they can come to an SA and get like 150 points with one assurement only... this is not what an SA is for. This will not create a web of trust. Thats what I (Thali) tried to say.

--Thali, yep, I fully agree with your point. I was allready thinking about how to deal with this power to immediatly assure somebody. I probably will not give more than 35 points during the event, to force a strong WOT and have people assured by min. three others.
