Astro Village Volunteers
As the Great WTH Gathering appoaches, some things are becoming more clear.
The Astronomy Tent has now been upgraded to a reinforced 5m x 5m dark tent with sides that can be opened up and a floor. It probably will be set up on Monday 25th, but that will depend on what happens elsewhere on the camp site. It will have to be taken down on Monday 1st of August.
When the Astronomy Tent is up, tables and benches will have to be put in, and then the actual gear can be set up. That gear is all expensive private stuff from several people, so it is only prudent that someone is present at all times, especially as we are a far outpost of WTH. Before this coverage can be guaranteed, there is not much point in deploying the gear. So I am hoping that on Monday 25th someone will join the Astro Village crew, so we can make a start.
Astro plans on sleeping in the Astronomy Tent.
So the question is: who is willing to join the Astro Village team and when? Of course, the more, the marrier ;-).
Below is a list of dates; please edit this section and enter your name below each day you are present at Astro Village and are willing to join the effort:
Monday, 25th of July
Setting up the Astronomy Tent. If enough people are present, deployment of basic gear, maybe basic testing.Tuesday, 26th of July
Full deployment of gear, extensive testing.Wednesday, 27th of July
Final touches, probably many.Thursday, 28th of July

sky pictures
Beautifull sky pictures! Maybe add pictures of moonphase in order to know how black the night will be?

Thanks. I added some graphs and charts for those who want to stay up really late and observe the Moon.
Sun section added
I just added a Sun section with the current SOHO MDI picture for reference when looking at the Sun. I'll have a metal filter with my ETX and two carton Solar Scopes.

Page structure thoughts
- Maybe article takes too long to load for some people. Maybe pictures on separate pages?
- Schedule with volunteers: some villages put that in the main article, some don't. I'm not sure.

Probably good thoughts, but I'm not sure how to do it. I would also like to have editable sections on the page. Is this easy for you to do?

Will do it today or coming days (grr... my boss steals time from wth). But maybe you can also print out and read Markup Cheat Sheet so my boss' stealing time does not affect Astro Village. What the heck... he is able to hinder things he doesn't even know exist.
