Rehash Village wants your souvenirs!

From What The Wiki?!

All material relating to WTH and to previous hacker gatherings will be collected by the people of Rehash, and made available - in as far as copyright matters allow - to the general audience at http://rehash.xs4all.nl. If you do have material but you don't have it with you, upload your stuff later at http://rehash.xs4all.nl. Please please PLEASE send all your material. It will also used for a book that will be written about Hack-Tic and XS4all.

Ever been to one of the events preceding WhatTheHack? Hacking At Large (HAL 2001), Hacking in Progress (HIP 1997), Hacking at the End of the Universe (HEU 1993) or even the Galactic Hacker Party (GHP 1989)? Rehash Village wants your souvenirs. Your pictures, your notes, your tapes, your video.

By now, Rehash has more or less collected all the videos of the HAL sessions. All WTH lectures are taped on dv-tapes and, using the 10 Macs that the University of Amsterdam has kindly lent them, converted into mp4's. Between Thursday morning and Saturday afternoon, they already used 100 tapes, expecting to fill more than 200. There were very few glitches: in one lecture, the team missed 10 minutes of footage, in another, they only taped audio for 10 minutes.

WTH footage is getting quite some hits. On Thursday, 33.000 mp4's were downloaded; on Friday, 19.000 mp4's, and by Saturday afternoon, another 4.700 mp4's.

Update from the rehash team: There was 1 session without audio, we have 1 broken session, and in 1 session we are missing 10 minutes of audio. Meanwhile: we've got uploaded 78 video's and today we will upload about 40 sessions... Have fun with it. Please tell the rehash team (by email!) when and where you have mirrored our stuff! (Oh well, you can edit this wiki).
