Mediadesk

From What The Wiki?!

The Mediadesk is a counter (mini-office) next to the Infopoint in the WhatTheBar Tent.

The Mediadesk is staffed from 8 until 22 h (?) and will provides information on all media-related issues:

• Information for journalists and coordination of interview-contacts for media among speakers, experts and the organisation.
• Information and coordination for everything related to 'What The News' Mediateam
• Information on media-related villages.

Volunteers will work in shifts of 2 hours, max. 4 hours in one go. Preferably, the Mediadesk Volunteers are involved in creating 'What The News' - the time behind the counter can be used for writing articles or administrating the What The News page, when there is not much to do (ain't happen the first 1-2 days ;o) ). We will have power, internet, a bar right next to us.

Service for Journalists

• central Infopoint for journalists

• contacts with speakers, other experts and organisation for interviews

• info where, when, how

• guidelines for journalists on WTH (filming only with agreement, etc.)

Service for 'What The News' Mediateam and ad hoc contributors

• contactpoint for all who want to contribute / questions about the mediapage

• schedule management (calls for coverage)

• moderation of forums on and management of What The News-page (protocoll)

Needed

• Volunteers!!! Please drop your name, contactinfo availability here!

Bine - bine@whatthehack.org - available throughout WTH incl. build-up phase.

• computer equipped with hard- and software for media-production

• info-folder for mediadesk-workers only (FAQ, contacts)

• office material (paper, pens,...)
