Lockpicking reaches new high

From What The Wiki?!

See the most difficult locks open in seconds! Arthurmeister will defend his lockpicking title tomorrow at the Lockpickers village. Before that, Lockpicking Workshops all day going on NOW!

When roaming around this funky weirdo village of hardcore amateurs that makes WTH, you'll find a quiet and peacful oasis called the Lockpicking village in A1 near POC/EventPhone and NOC/FHQ. This white tent house some of the finest lockpickers in the world, and will receive tomorrow world-class competition notably with Manfried and Arthurmeister, the 2004 world champion of lockpicking.

There, you can learn through workshops during one hour each, all the day, some of the best techniques (and also the basics) for lockpicking anything: raking, picking individual pins, and... and... bumper keys!

Dr. Meister Manfred B. explains to me, right there in the middle of all the tents while picking complex-looking locks some of his connoisseur opinion on simple things such as the best length of tools handle and what he prefers as a, ermmm, professionnal dentist (!). No wonder delicate hands can do wonder!

As Barry Wels, Chairman of TOOOL.nl - the Netherland lockipicking association explains to me, some also of the newest techniques are being taught here. Lockipicking news in 2004 were certainly about these Cryptonite tubular locks being opened easily with a ball ben tube.

What's the 2005 news?

Barry: Well... the newest and foremost technique is Bumping for sure. It may even be the technique of the decade or of the century.

You can even get some details on: http://www.toool.nl/bumping.pdf

Today at 2PM, a workshop on bumping will be presented, make sure to see that and also at 20:00, there will be in tent 2 "Bumping revisited" which is the main conference on the subject.

Make sure to visit http://www.lockpicking.org as well as Lockpickers village! :)
