Hacking Animals (re-Rehacked version)
From What The Wiki?!
Colin Daniels and Vincent Maher hacked their own scheduled presentation which they called Hacking Animals, The history of human evolution as the practice of hacking. It was probably one of the most hilarious speeches full of South African humor, but with a serious message. One of the best presentations I saw, according to Karel Fasotte, who himself tries to hack the ionosphere [1] Very funny and extremely refreshing, say Paul (rehash.av) and Gawin (Mediadesk). Colin and Vincent made this up just before the start of their presentation that same day. However, probally not everybody will get their point. If you missed it, you had better check the stream!

After Hacking Animals, they introduced the audience to the aims of the Media lab software, and the benefits it offers to press which will use not only newspaper, but the web, sms, mms and other media to deliver news to the people. They started off two years ago by implementing the strict workflows demanded by editors in chief. After figuring out that their system has a low acceptance among journalists, they designed a completely modular version free of any preset workflow structure. And right now they are trying to combine both versions into a product meeting the workflow needs of chief editors and the freedom to overthrow the workflow in order act on unforseeable events and upcoming hot news.
The only thing Vincent Maher and Colin Daniels could not quickfix in the rehack of their talk was the unseen Medialab slides they had prepared.
