Are you sure nobody bumps into your house/flat while here at the WHT05??

From What The Wiki?!

So you are realy sure that you have closed the windows and locked the front dore before you got to WTH05? Are you? Yes? You really think nobody will get into your house or flat, selling your computer, sneaking your very secret data from office you wanted to work on when back home?

After the workshop, held by Barry Wels and Han Fey I'm not so sure any more about that. The only thing which makes me a bit confident about not beeing bump-keyed is that the most valuable i own is my brain and bumping that .... you know. Howerver some people especially some Americans left the workshop with a white and pale face as the lock most popular in the united states seems to be non existent when beeing bump-keyed.

The real thing to worry about, as Barry Wels and Han Fey pointed it out, is not the fakt that the most common low and mid priced locks are bump-key-able. The most shocking news they gave was, that bump-keying is ignored, not taken serious, underestimated or even called to be a magic trick by peole whos duty it is to ensure public security and enforce law.

Here is a somehow literal sumary of some the statements they cited:

"[...] An insurance company will not pay, in case somebody got bump-keyed, as the tale about
bump-keying is definitly made up to cover insurance frauds. If working at all pump-keying
requires hardly affordable equipment and very well trained lock picking skills
and time thus it can only be carried out by professionals[...]"

Well aren't burglars professionals? And further how could Bary then pick a lock at random and a nearly matching key and open the lock within only a couple of minutes. The only things he used to turn the selected key into a bumpkey were a squared file and a grip both available at the do-it-yourself store of your choice. This was stated to be impossible by several other commets Bary Wels and Han Fey cited, telling that the keys including the bump-keys have to be manufactured verry precisely to trigger the unlocking effect. What they did not mention is the fact that keys usually are made from a far softer material than the locks in order be able to copy them on demmand.

So if you get back to your empty house or flat after WTH05 and are accused by your insurance company to fraude them than you definitly should contact Barry Wels and/or Han Fey to proove you were bump-keyed.

Note: stay tuned for contact information, and further schocking material.
